At this point I'm sure most of my regular readers know I had to take a break from running due to a stress fracture in my ankle. In order to not lose too much of my fitness level (or my mind) I embarked on a quest to get MUSCLES. You can click HERE to read more about my strength training.
Like I mentioned in that post (and as you can see from the above picture that I stole from that post), one of the things I did was work with a kettlebell using the KettleWorx program. For those of you not familiar with it, this is a series of dvds that target specific muscle groups while using a kettlebell.
The thing I like best about this program is that while you're focusing on a small muscle group like your arms, you're also working on the larger muscle groups like your legs. This is acheived by doing things like squats along with the arm movements.
I especially LOVE how cardio and strength training is mixed together in these dvds.
As someone who has always had a bit of "stength training phobia" this was a great way to get started. The instructor is easy to follow and the moves are simple yet effective. I love how strong I've become and of course I like knowing that MUSCLE BURNS FAT!
The people at KettleWorx are giving you the chance to win their KettleWorx Essentials package along with either a 5lb or 10lb kettlebell.
