The Connection Runners

Finally!

Don't forget to enter my Road ID giveaway HERE.

I am super duper excited! Why, you ask? Well... ..

Friday night my hubby and I went for a 4 mile run. Obviously nothing earth shattering about that distance, the exciting part was that it was:

4 miles of PAIN FREE running

Yep, it was my first totally pain free run since DECEMBER! Whoohooooo!!!! Can you "hear" the excitement?

Its been about a million degrees here, so we've been running really late. On Friday it was about 11pm when we headed out. I joked with my husband about our big "date" night. :) We stuck to a route close to home which I usually find boring, but I saw it from a totally different perspective Friday night. Our path was only lit by the moon. It was pretty cool relying on your other senses to navigate. I felt GREAT the entire run, and when it was over I could confidently say I had more miles left in my legs. BUT I'm still working on slowly increasing the miles after rehabbing my ankle so I didn't push it. I went to bed with a huge smile on my face that night.

Last night we went for another 4 mile run. And AGAIN it was PAIN FREE. Yippeeeee!!!

That alone made me like the run... .and its a good thing because the rest of it pretty much sucked. :) We went out at 9pm and it was still 88 degrees with 92% humidity. Crazy! I felt like I was trying to breathe under water. And there were some stomach... issues. Apparently black beans are not the best pre-run meal. Nothing like re-tasting dinner over the course of 4 miles. Blech. Lesson learned. :)

I am so happy to be slowly rebuilding my base miles. I'll be increasing my distance this week, but am continuing to only run every other day. I have a month before I officially start marathon training.

Oh? You didn't know that?

Well... now you do. :) I've been keeping my plans kind of quiet because of all the ankle/nerve issues but all the pain free running this week has me optimistic.(BTW, went to neuro today, scheduled for nerve conduction study next week)

I'm planning to run (the full) Rock 'N Roll San Antonio in November.

Pretty darn exciting. That means I have a few questions for you:

Anyone else running RnR SA?

Do you have a marathon training plan you like? I used the one on marathonrookie.com for the 1/2 earlier this year, but I'm looking for one that has cross training days built in.
