The Keys

We spent a quick two days in The Keys this weekend. I have TONS of pictures to share.

Going back over and reviewing these pics have really been a reality check for me. In the past it was rare to see me in ANY family vacation pictures because I was so self conscious. Now I'm flipping through these pics and am thinking I'm in TOO many of them :). Guess that just means I feel good enough about myself to hop in front of the camera.

I tracked down one of those rare "before" beach pics to show a comparison.

NOW:

Yep, I'm pleased with that progress. :)

So we headed down Friday morning to set up camp in Key Largo. Even though it's only about a two and a half hour trip for us, this was my first time in The Keys.

Friday night we were camping with friends. Here is my hubby setting up camp.

After setting up our home away from home we hit the beach for some snorkeling:

The next morning we headed further south to Islamorada where we found a local Island Fest.

It was a waterfront event with local arts, crafts, vendors and live music. The weather was beautiful and the locals were super nice.

They were holding a blood drive so we decided to do our part by donating.

After being drained we decided to head on south to Key West. The view on the drive down is amazing!

I followed my own past traveling advice (seen here), and planned ahead by packing healthy snacks for the road trip.

And then promptly followed that apple up with a miniature piece of chocolate. Its all about moderation people. :)

As we pulled into Key West we caught the tail end of a Blue Angels air show.

We hit up the "Southern Most Point in the Continental USA" marked by a giant buoy. This was a pretty funny part of the trip because my 2 year old thought we were calling it a "big booty" instead of "big buoy" so he kept going on and on about how much he liked the "big booty". :) hehe

And I got to try out my new... drum roll please... ..SWIMSUIT COVER UP sent to me by the lovely ladies at RunningSkirts.com. (Pink Dot Basic Tri-Skirt/Swim Suit Coverup) This coverup was great! The material is light and super comfy and obviously cute. The other thing I liked about it is it has two small pockets which are super handy. Head over to RunningSkirts.com to check out their great new line.

And remember to use coupon code "endurance" to receive 15% off your order following checkout.

I still have no idea what that balloon is supposed to be..

The sun setting... ..behind some clouds... darn. :)

We had a wonderful time. We are so blessed to live in such a beautiful state.

How did you spend your weekend?
