The Connection Runners

Return to Running

I woke up last Thursday with a sense of anticipation. The day had finally arrived. After 3 LONG months off from running due to a stress fracture, I was finally ready to head out again. (I said "ready" and not "allowed" to run because "technically" I haven't been released from my doctor... apparently they can't release you if you don't make an appointment... minor detail that I will rectify this week.)

I was nervous and excited that day. In fact, I had even laid out the perfect "return to running" outfit the night before. I wanted to look as good as I felt, so of course I turned to an outfit from RunningSkirts.com.

I seriously can't stress how much I LOVE their gear. The skirt I'm wearing is part of their new line, its the Run Love Fleurs print. The top is their Performance Mesh Tank.

It was 88 degrees on Thursday, but the tank and skirt kept me cool, dry and chaffing free. I was super excited to run and the outfit was the icing on the cake. Head over to RunningSkirts.com and check out all their great gear. They have a print for every personality. I've got my eye on the "Skirt Camp" (since my hubby is active duty Army) and the plain black running skirt. I've lost a little weight lately (nothing to complain about there... .), but that means all my WONDERFUL skirts are getting big. Time to downsize.

Use coupon code "endurance" to receive a 15% refund on your order after you have checked out. Mothers Day is coming up (hint, hint, fellows) and a running skirt is the perfect thing for the active mom in your life.

THE RUN: After donning the perfect outfit it was time to head out. We picked a trail at a park near our house. We hadn't ran this trail before, but we will definitely be spending a lot of time there in the future. It was BEAUTIFUL.

The trail started in an open field and then led into a shady, wooded area.

And then we came across some water full of critters. The parks name means "alligator waters" so I posed and got moving!

Then we must have taken a wrong turn because the "trail" disappeared and the stroller couldn't make it through the foliage. Can you spot the jogging stroller?

We backtracked and made it out safely. This picture is proof that my husband is almost always the one running with the jogging stroller, he rarely makes me push it. I am so lucky :)

After getting back on course we ran across this guy:

I seriously almost ran over him, he was NOT happy. Ever been hissed at by a turtle?

All in all we only ran a few miles but it was GLORIOUS!

The sun was shining, I was rockin' an awesome skirt, and I was RUNNING!!!!!

Thanks to RunningSkirts.com for helping me kick off my return to running!
