The Connection Runners

New holiday tradition #2

Back in November I talked about new healthy traditions. With so many of our holiday traditions centered around food I wanted to put in place a few ones that weren't. So whats our newest holiday tradition?

CHRISTMAS LIGHT RUNS: Several times in the past weeks we have loaded the kiddo up in the jogging stroller and headed out. He LOVES looking at Christmas lights so we decided to combine it with our running. You can start with your own neighborhood and then venture out into other neighborhoods. Just remember to use precautions when running at night. We stayed on the sidewalks and my husband always came along.

Want to make it even more festive? Load some Christmas tunes on your ipod and slap on a santa hat. The miles fly by because of the fun views.

Here we are on a recent run.

Notice the headband I have on? The lovely folks at Bondi Bands were kind enough to send me a few samples of their products. The headband was great. It kept my bangs out of my face and didn't slip the entire run! (which is my usual complaint with headbands) They come in tons of cute patterns and have a huge selection of headbands with motivational and funny phrases. I have my eye on this one:

Cute, right? They have tons of other products, check them out HERE. Here are a couple of coupon codes to use on your next order.

CHRISTMAS EVE: I had a non-scale victory Christmas Eve. I wore a dress. VOLUNTARILY. (I had to wear one a week ago as seen HERE, but if it had been up to me I wouldn't have.) That was literally the first time in two years I had worn a dress, so imagine my husbands surprise when I decided to wear this to church.

(Yes, it was a sleeveless dress. It was 80 degrees here on Christmas Eve.)

I was actually comfortable and didn't feel self conscious. That's a huge NSV for me!

CHRISTMAS DAY:We had a wonderful, non-stressful day. It was so much fun watching my son this year. He is finally old enough to enjoy the season. We spent it with friends and I'm happy to say I was able to eat what I enjoy without going overboard.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!
